2017 Founders' Award Honoree:
Geraldine Golub

Geraldine Golub is a longtime community volunteer who was instrumental in launching Capital Region Sponsor-A-Scholar’s Schenectady program in 2001.

She has been dedicated to the mission and the Scholars since then, acting as board co-chair in 2014, and board chair since 2016. Ms. Golub mentors two students in the program, one is a Schenectady High School sophomore and the other recently completed her first year at SUNY Oneonta.

Ms. Golub and her husband have also sponsored four Scholars. In addition to her commitment to Sponsor-A-Scholar, she serves on the board of directors of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, where she is an Action Council past president. Other board service has included Girls, Inc. and Northeast Parent and Child Society.

In her professional career, Ms. Golub held positions at Price Chopper Supermarkets/Golub Corp in Operations, Information Technology, Finance and Real Estate. She is an alumna of Union College, where she is a member of the President’s Council. She resides in Niskayuna with her husband, Jerel Golub. They are parents of two adult children.
