This spring, we kicked off an initiative for graduating college students to share advice and inspiration with our high school graduates who are preparing to head off to college. Over the summer, we'll be sharing the advice with weekly posts on social media with the hashtag #Scholar2Scholar. Feel free to join in!
Here are a few gems we've received already:
"Trust your instincts and focus on the big picture. Stay positive and believe in yourself even if things don't go as you imagined. Every achievement and every failure makes you stronger and closer to your path to success!"
Mahnoor Ali, SUNY Albany Class of 2016.
"Don't give up on your future. Money will be tight sometimes, your schedule will be hectic very often, but the progress will always be worth more than if you take time away from your courses. The sooner you finish your college career, the sooner you can move onto something better and more stable."
Christopher Dence, Schenectady Community College Class of 2016.
"Know when to say "no". Think of your college experience as a well-balanced dinner plate - if you say yes to too many things, your plate will overflow. If you put something on the already full plate, something will have to come off. Don't spread yourself too thin!"
Jesse Rawson, The College of Saint Rose Class of 2016
We're looking for more Sponsor-A-Scholar graduates and college students to add their own tips and stories. Send your advice by email to firstname.lastname@example.org and please put #Scholar2Scholar as the subject of the email. Or tweet us your guidance @CRS_A_S with hashtag #Scholar2Scholar. Or connect with us on Facebook to message or post your advice.
