Free Capitol Haunting Tours
What: Come tour the Capitol building and discover all the hidden and haunting secrets that the state capitol has to offer!    

“Does the night watchman who died in the Capitol fire of 1911 still make his rounds? Which two United States Presidents visited the Capitol after they died? What happened to the "lost" Capitol murals and their eccentric artist? Does the secret demon carved in stone hold a Capitol curse?”

Come to the New York State Capitol for a special tour that explores these questions and other legends connected with this historic building.

Fall Foliage Walk

What: It's peak time for leaf peeping! Walk along the Escarpment Trail and marvel at the beautiful colors of fall as we peer out over the cliffs. Along the way, learn how to identify some of New York's native trees, such as maple, beech, birch, and pine. Meet at the Pear Orchard picnic area. Please call 518-872-0800 to register.

Curling Open House

What: Try the super fun sport of curling! The Albany Curling Club is holding its annual Fall Open House. Head out onto the ice where our trainers will teach you how to throw the curling stone and sweep it like an Olympian.

Serve Albany : Ignite

It's the coolest volunteer fair you've ever been to with food, live music and more! It's a great way for you and your Scholar to explore new volunteer opportunities in Albany and beyond. Plus, stop by and visit our booth and say hi to our mentor volunteers!

Night Sky Adventure

What: Educators from the Dudley Observatory, in conjunction with volunteers from the Albany Area Amateur Astronomers group, present astronomy lessons, planetarium shows and night sky viewing (weather depending). Amateur astronomers and families are invited to bring binoculars or telescopes. One or more telescopes will be provided for public use.

When:  Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Open Studio at the Albany Art Room

What: Enjoy a fun afternoon getting creative with your Scholar! The Albany Art Room offers open studio hours on Saturdays and Sundays. Try your hand at painting, pottery, sculpture, jewelry making and more. 

When: Saturdays and Sundays starting at 10:00 AM
