Free Capitol Haunting Tours
What: Come tour the Capitol building and discover all the hidden and haunting secrets that the state capitol has to offer!
“Does the night watchman who died in the Capitol fire of 1911 still make his rounds? Which two United States Presidents visited the Capitol after they died? What happened to the "lost" Capitol murals and their eccentric artist? Does the secret demon carved in stone hold a Capitol curse?”
Come to the New York State Capitol for a special tour that explores these questions and other legends connected with this historic building.

What: It's peak time for leaf peeping! Walk along the Escarpment Trail and marvel at the beautiful colors of fall as we peer out over the cliffs. Along the way, learn how to identify some of New York's native trees, such as maple, beech, birch, and pine. Meet at the Pear Orchard picnic area. Please call 518-872-0800 to register.

What: Try the super fun sport of curling! The Albany Curling Club is holding its annual Fall Open House. Head out onto the ice where our trainers will teach you how to throw the curling stone and sweep it like an Olympian.

What: Educators from the Dudley Observatory, in conjunction with volunteers from the Albany Area Amateur Astronomers group, present astronomy lessons, planetarium shows and night sky viewing (weather depending). Amateur astronomers and families are invited to bring binoculars or telescopes. One or more telescopes will be provided for public use.
