Winter Activities for Mentors and Mentees

Here are a few free and low-cost events for mentors and Scholars to try over the coming months. Be sure to snap some photos of yourselves having fun and share them with us!

Empire Skate Plaza

What: Skate for Free at the Plaza! There is a snack bar to re-charge after getting on the ice! This beautiful outdoor ice-rink offers you and your mentee beautiful views of the Capital of New York!

 

 

When:  Dec 1st-March 11th                           

Where: Empire State Plaza                           

Cost: Free

Walk the Capital Holiday Lights

What: Take a walk to see the beautiful lights at Washington Park. This is the Final Walk Night for Charity around the beautiful carriage paths of the Washington Park Lake while supporting local Charities of Choice for 2017.

When: Wednesday, January 3rd from 5-7pm

Where: Washington Park, Albany NY

Cost: Free with suggested donation of five dollars.

‘I am not your Negro’ - Film Screening

What: Join WMHT Public Media and the Albany Public Library's Howe Branch for a free screening of I Am Not Your Negro, prior to the January 15th broadcast on WMHT.

When: January 3rd 6-8 P.M

What: Escape the cold and  enjoy the indoor farmers market!

When: Saturdays from 9-2

Where:  Troy Atrium, 4 3rd St, Troy, NY 12180

Cost: Free to walk around and enjoy the music. Try a pretzel or fresh cider or juice with your Scholar!
