What: Star Wars Rogue One

Join the College of Saint Rose as they kick off the summer with the latest installment in the Star Wars saga with Rogue One on Friday, June 16, on the lawn at the College of St. Rose.
Live music from the Ryan Leddick Trio will begin the fun at 7:30pm, and there will also be snacks, drinks, and fun for the family before the movie plays at 8:30 pm. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and get there early to get a great spot!

Cost: Adults tickets: $10/each; Scholars 15 and under: $5/each
Watch hot air balloons, listen to live music, shop local vendors, and devour delicious food at the Saratoga Balloon and Craft Festival! Scholars and mentors can celebrate summer at this festival while enjoying the many activities available for all ages. This would be a great activity for a group. Be sure to attend in the early morning or early evening to catch the hot air balloons in action!
What: Rockin’ on the River
Where: Riverfront Park River St. Troy, NY 12180
When: Every Wednesday, now-August 9th, 5-8:30pm
Enjoy live music at Riverfront Park in Troy. With a great variety of shows, free parking, and great food nearby, you and your Scholar will have a blast!
What: Park Playhouse
Where: Ragtime and The Music Man presented in Washington Park (in front of the boathouse): Madison Ave and Willet St, Albany, NY 12203;
The Lion King Jr. presented at Cohoes Music Hall: 58 Remsen St, Cohoes, NY 12047

Cost: Free Park Playhouse amphitheater lawn seats for Ragtime and The Music Man; $15 tickets for The Lion King Jr. at Cohoes Music Hall
Park Playhouse is the Capital District’s free summer theatre for the past 28 years. The 2017 line up includes Ragtime, The Music Man, and The Lion King Jr.! Pack a picnic and bring your Scholar, but be sure to arrive early if you want to take advantage of free amphitheater lawn seats (space is limited).
What: CanalFest at Mabee Farm
Where: Mabee Farm Historic Site, 1100 Main Street, Rotterdam Junction, NY 12150
When: Saturday, July 15, 2017, 11 am – 3 pm
Bring your Scholar to Mabee Farm Historic site, discover the impact that the Erie Canal has had on our region’s culture and heritage, and explore the recreational opportunities along the Canalway. The festivities include live music, games, canal-themed crafts, FREE ice cream, blacksmithing and cooking demonstrations inspired by the Erie Canal, bike tours of the Erie Canal, and tours of the historic Mabee house.
