It has been the greatest privilege of my career to serve as the Executive Director of Capital Region Sponsor-A-Scholar for the past three years. It has been a joy to meet and know the Scholars, mentors and donors who make up our community. Unfortunately, I have health issues which make it impossible for me to continue with all of you as much as I would like to. We have so much to be proud of, and so much to be grateful for.
I have learned as much from the Scholars as they have learned from their tutors and mentors, and I know that they, just like Sponsor-A-Scholar, will be poised for great things over the coming months and years. I’m proud of all of the work of our Scholars and mentors, and I am humbled by the generosity of our donors who believe so deeply in our students and in our program. I know that Sponsor-A-Scholar will be in good hands. Our staff is dedicated and capable, and our board is committed to build on the progress we have made.
I’m not going far, and intend to keep cheering everyone on from the sidelines once I’ve retired at the end of November.
Thank you for sharing part of your journey with me.
