Scholars from Albany and Schenectady who are curious about careers in the medical professions took part in the two visits earlier this year to Albany Medical Center. In February they toured various parts of the hospital facility. Students were hosted by Rob Saba, Director of Development, Grateful Families & Patients.
In March, they spoke to Chad Pezzano, Respiratory Therapist, and proud graduate of Schenectady High School(!). They learned about the role of a respiratory therapist, how they help patients and work with doctors and other medical professionals, and the training needed to earn certification in that field.
Several students in the session were interested in learning more about this profession--they were inspired by Chad's description of his diverse responsibilities and the many types of patients he helps on a daily basis.
Our thanks to Rob, Chad and the wonderful Community Relations team at Albany Medical Center that makes this program possible.
