What is a Summer Bridge Program?

A summer bridge program helps you build skills and experiences that help you to transition from one year of your education to another. This program is focused on college readiness, so all of the activities and workshops will help you learn things that will prepare you for college.

When is it?
June 27th and 28th at Hudson Valley Community College from 8am to 4pm.

Who Should Attend?

This program is mandatory for Sponsor-A-Scholar students in the Class of 2018 and 2019. Students must attend both days of the program. Sponsor-A-Scholar students in the Class of 2020 are welcome to attend, but it is not mandatory.

Why Should I Attend?

It will be fun! Really. You'll have a chance to meet students from across the Capital Region who also participate in Sponsor-A-Scholar. You'll also be able to meet college admissions professionals, current college students, Sponsor-A-Scholar alumni and local professionals.

What Will Happen?

So. Many. Things. We'll have interactive workshops, networking lunches, a college tour and ice cream. College-bound Scholars will learn about campus resources and will meet representatives from their schools, and high school students will begin to learn about the college search process.

Who Will Be There?

Awesome presenters from colleges, businesses and organizations who are invested in your success as a student! You'll have a chance to meet folks who can connect you to jobs or internships, and others who can help you navigate future challenges.

How Will I Get There?

If you have your own transportation, great! Otherwise, we'll provide buses both mornings from Troy, Schenectady and Albany High Schools. The buses will bring everyone back to their respective high schools at the end of the day.
